C.O.P.S.

Potrero Hill falls within the jurisdiction of the Bayview Police District, which covers one of the largest areas in San Francisco.

Captain Rick Bruce, who heads this district, sends out a daily community update via e-mail which informs residents of incidents occuring in the district. This newsletter is both informative and at times irreverent.

To be added to the mailing list, send an e-mail to Rick_Bruce@ci.sf.ca.us. The community newsletters are also available online.

A recent article in the Examiner discusses a pilot program that Bruce initiated. In an effort to fight crime and address quality-of-life issues, three cell phones have been issued to on-duty officers for citizens to report auto thefts, low-level drug sales, homeless encampments and illegal dumping.

The number of these cellphones are:

(Officer Maurice Edwards, Tues - Fri, 6am to 3:30 pm)

Illegal Encampments, Trash Dumping, etc.,

(Officer Sue Lavin, Mon - Fri, 8am to 3:30 pm / Officer Tim Buelow, Mon - Fri, 5pm to 1:30 am )

(Sgt. Carl Fabbri, Days vary)
