Auto boosting, interrupted

Looks like a little bit of community policing was responsible for the arrest of 2 auto boosters last week (see police report below). It's interesting to note that the thieves live in nearby neighborhoods: the Mission and Bernal Heights.

"Burglary Arrest, 362 Arkansas, July 7, 10:26 p.m. - Bayview Officer Cahill responded on an auto boost call in which a silver Honda was being burglarized.  The officers located the car and found a woman standing next to it holding a flashlight.  The officers also found a 17 year old male inside the vehicle.  The two subjects were detained and the caller came to the scene and identified the detained individuals as those he had seen breaking the window of the auto.  The subjects were found in possession of numerous items of stolen property, and the officers searched the area and located two additional vehicles with windows which had recently been broken.  All of the victims were located and the subjects were arrested.  The woman, 21 and living on the 1100 block of York Street, was booked for burglary (several counts), conspiracy and possession of burglar tools.  The juvenile, living on the 1200 block of Cortland, was cited for the same charges and released to his mother (050 760 038)."
