Potrero Hill Police Blotter
It's been a while since I last posted about crime in Potrero Hill. Something interesting has happened since Captain Rick Bruce retired though ... there seems to be a spike in crime for Potrero Hill reported in the daily e-mail community updates. Now I'm not sure if more crime is occuring, or whether or not the acting captain is giving Potrero Hill more airtime (and unfortunately not the big air with snow kind).
Anyways, I've started up a separate blog for Potrero Hill crime, and the potrerohillsf homepage now has a police blotter module in the right hand column ... something you might want to check out.
One recent police report I'd like to highlight is an armed robbery at Wisconsin & 22nd St., 8:44pm:
"Bayview Officers Arndt and Paul responded on a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, they met a man who said that he was walking home. He heard someone yelling at him and then noticed a man, the robber, walking towards him. The robber pointed a gun at the man and demanded money. The man complied."I'm very familiar with this corner, as it's precisely where I got mugged a little over a year ago ... so be cautious around there.

That is frightening, indeed. We walk that route daily! I'm curious to know at which part of the intersection the attacks were (the recent one or yours, MIke). Would lighting help there? Was it close to the firestation? Or those stairs?
I was mugged by 3 teens (around 12-13 years old) while I was walking up Wisconsin around 6:45pm. It was still light out. I was walking up the street opposite the firestation. They escaped towards public housing using the stairs at Wisconsin/22nd that lead down to Arkansas.
When I walk up Wisconsin now, I walk on the side closer to the firestation.
