Potrero Hill Festival

Potrero Hill Festivalby Michael Rios
If you've been walking around the neighborhood recently, you've probably spotted a colorful poster filled with goats announcing this year's Potrero Hill Festival - which is celebrating it's 15th year.

The painting on the poster was created by Oakland artist Michael Rios, whose work you might recognize from Carlos Santana's 'Supernatural' album or the murals he's created in the Mission. Rios has graciously lent his talents to the festival poster stretching all the way back to 1991.

The Festival kicks off this Saturday, Oct 15 with a pancake breakfast from 9 am - 11 am at the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House (953 De Haro St). The street festival in front of the Neighborhood House is from 10 am - 5pm and will include music, ethnic food, children's events, dance, art, craft and jewelry vendors

There will be live performances featuring shabfas, the apollo jazz group and others.

Kids activities include: Bubble making, Face Painting, Pink Magic Castle Jumper, Rock Climber Inflatable Slide, Community Arts Project Panel Making, Special guest appearance by Dono the Clown who will perform amazing balloon twisting & a magic show, and "Art in the Park"- featuring spin art, creating a magic wand, making a paper pumpkin and decorating sugar skulls.
