You may have noticed that Art's Trading Co. (which used to exist behind the Baker & Hamilton Building at King & 7th st.) is no more.

In it's place and currently in the design phase is a mixed-use project with 224 units, 178 of which will be below market rate ownership units, and a half acre park.

David Baker + Partners, well known for the condos at 18th and Arkansas, are the architects of this new project, and according to their website:

A portion of the Mission Creek greenbelt and bikeway is located on the site. This newly created half acre of public open space will serve as a neighborhood amenity and provide pedestrian and bicycle access, to link the Mission District and Showplace Square to Mission Bay and downtown.
