900 Minnesota
20 Dec 2005The Examiner recently ran a story about 900 Minnesota, a new housing development in Dogpatch. This project will adaptive retrofit the 1906 Schilling warehouse into 142 house loft condominium homes, and will include a cafe space overlooking Esprit Park.
Lou Vasquez (the project’s developer) has pledged to help maintain Esprit Park, and is lauded by both Susan Eslick (president of the Dogpatch Neighborhood Association) and Tony Kelly (President of the Potrero Boosters Neighborhood Association) for including open space in the planning of the project.
The story also mentions Green Trust, a nonproft that Susan will help launch with local developer Martin Building Co., which will combine private and public dollars to acquire and maintain open space in Dogpatch.

Susan and Tony may “laud” the builders but they don’t live across the street from this monstrosity. I do. The builders got all kinds of exemptions from the historic district regulations for this project; as always, money talks.
