The city of San Francisco has more than $100 million in supplemental funding available, and Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin is proposing that $35 million be spent on Recreation and Parks Capital Projects.
Because the surplus will be divided to fund multiple causes, the measure for parks is NOT in competition with health and safety initiatives.
Included in Peskin’s proposal is $1,382,000 for the Potrero Hill Playground located near the Potrero Hill Rec Center on Arkansas St.
The Neighborhood Parks Council strongly supports the use of extra funding available to the city for one-time expenses only.
They’ve also created a petition supporting the proposal which will take less than a minute to complete.
