Get on the Bus
15 Jun 2006
Our limo post seems to have put Potrero Hill on the global map (shout outs to Jalopnik, Socketsite, and the Sierra Club), and hopefully future stretch limo drivers will think twice about busting down hills when they see a big bold yellow ‘Hill’ sign.
What better way to follow-up with that post than to announce the opening of ‘Get on the Bus’ this Friday, June 16, 7pm - late.
Get on the Bus is an exhibition that reconsiders the experience, culture and meaning of our nation’s least loved transit mode.
The Exhibition runs from Friday June 16 to Sunday July 2 and will be open for Free public viewing Thursdays - Sundays, 12:00 noon to 7:00pm. The exhibition features fine art, documentary photography, design, technology, writing and film.
In addition to the opening, other events include:
• Panel presention looking at how to sell the idea of the bus on Thursday June 22
• Night of films Friday June 23
• Panel on Thursday June 27 that looks at the future of the bus.
The Gallery, kindly donated from the Martin Building Company, is located at 2255 Third Street, between 19th and 20th Streets in the Dogpatch Neighborhood.
