District 10 Supervisor Candidates Forum
21 Sep 2006
From Tony Kelley, Potrero Boosters President:
The Potrero Boosters present a District 10 Supervisor Candidates Forum on Tuesday, September 26, 7-9:15 pm at The Thick House, 1695 18th Street (near Carolina).
The forum will include seven candidates for District 10 Supervisor, including incumbent Sophie Maxwell.
The communities of Potrero Hill are known for their high levels of political interest, active voting habits, and residents who care deeply about the future of the City. We will need that attention in the future, with three new neighborhoods being planned around us, a controversial redevelopment plan in Bayview/Hunter’s Point, numerous environmental hazards in our communities, and a wide variety of new initiatives projected for District 10 as a whole. We look forward to discussing these issues directly with the candidates; come join us on Tuesday and judge for yourself!
(All questions will be asked by the debate moderators; if you wish to submit a question for any or all of the candidates, we recommend e-mailing it to president [at] potreroboosters.org or bringing it in writing to the forum on the 26th.)

Did anyone attend this forum and take notes? Could someone post a summary for those of us that were not able to attend?
Thanks!
The only information I have been able to find so far was an article by Richard Cole, in that new free paper “SF DAILY”. Can be found in blue boxes scattered around and in businesses in some locations. Sounds like Maxwell got righteously slammed for her total sell out to the developers and the sacrifice of her constituents in BVHP to “downtown” and the speculators. But as she seems to have protected and enriched all the folks up on the hill…well I guess she’s earning her blood money.

OOOPS…wrong debate, was referring to last night’s by League of Women Voters.
I attended the forum in Potrero Hill, and it was very apparent that Sophie Maxwell is the only qualified candidate for the position.
Most of the other candidates seemed to be focusing their debate on the needs of solely the Bayview / Hunters Point area.
And for the record, Sophie has done a fine job for the Hill in areas such as the closure of the power plant and limiting new development in showplace square.
